Ok this will be my first group build, I bought this from our local club on monday.

The cockpit has been started but just the rear and floor have been glued and majority of the larger parts have been cut from the sprue's
Does this affect my entry?

Reason for this kit? it just looks gorgeous for a 72nd kit

We would prefer unstarted kits, but given yours has a very minimal amount of work already done to it I think we can allow it

I'm after a Fujimi A-4 kit so will be keen to see how you get on with this

Ok bit more done last night, cut the flaps from main wing and stuck the rear fuselage together.

Evening, gone a bit mad today and whilst being mad i forgot to take any pics of progress!! Meh

But heres what i've done so far

Sprayed her White


Then sprayed her Grey and coated her in Johnsons Klear!

Decals going on very soon!

Any problems with construction at all? It all looks to have gone together very nicely

The only real problem i had was with the front and rear fuselage meeting together at the top, but a bit of filler and thats dealt with easily!
Also watch the Arrestor hook as its fixed to the body and boy is it delicate (mines snapped as i'm an oaf)

But other than that its a great kit, one i shall build again too!

Very nice Adam, looks like a nice kit. Some nice markings on there.
Interesting about the deflecter plates above the guns. These were a feature of the A-4E and later Skyhawks, they were not present on A-4A, B and C due to a different intake layout. The later skyhawks had intakes with a splitter plate and stood away slightly from the fuselage. The plates prevented gun gas being ingested, somehow not a problem with the J-65 engined Skyhawks! (If you have some Hasegawa Skyhawks, compare a B/C with an E/F)

Oh no i knew it! I wondered why the decals were such a git to fit! I may have to leave them on now chief, but thanks for the heads up for the future A4 builds!!
It is a lovely little kit to Build, i would recommend one heartily!

It looks a very nice kit, if I could ever tear myself away from Hasegawa's 48th Skyhawks, I would go for these. You can't beat Skyhawks, a lovely little aircraft.

Hi Adam it's looking good,I built a Fujimi E many years ago in fact it was the last jet I built.I continually knocked off the slat guides while building it,you seem to of aligned the fuselage and nose sections with no problem,mine ended up like a banana.One point leading on from Joel's comment is it possible that the kit contained an E/F nose and not a B/C it's just that the nose seems longer and more pointed than the snub nose earlier versions.It may be simply down to the angle of the photos and the fact that your model is not quite completed.
