trust me you'll love the kit Pete, one thing about AFV club kits to watch is the plastic is slightly softer than say tamiya kit plastic so care cutting from the sprunes is called for

Yes, the detail on the parts looks pretty good so far.
Anyways the progress so far today, the top of the main body is only balanced on for effect.
As you can see there is a nasty bow in the sprue of the body parts, but I think with a little persuasion with a big 'ammer it will fit ok.

Hi Pete,
I'd recommend the Eduard PE set for this little babe, its a nice set
and makes an already good kit into a really great kit. I've got the AFV Club Scimitar
with the Eduard PE. Check out the PDF instructions on the Eduard web site.

I have taken a look at the Eduard PE Dan, to be quite honest mate PE and me don't get on, there was more than enough with the 3 bits of PE in the kit.

As promised, update pics of the Scorpion, wheels look a bit wonky as they are not fixed as yet, still waiting for gulf paints to arrive, I think I will have to give David@SBX an e-mail to find out whats happened as I placed an order a week ago and had an e-mail confirming my order, but have heard nothing since.

Well I've sprayed the Scorpion Gulf Armour Lt. Stone, but I've got a slight rough texture to the paint, I think it was the fact that the temp in the kitchen when I sprayed it was 26 degrees, I will probably have to give it a rub down with an old t-shirt when the paint is well dried.

Hi Antoine, not too much of a problem mate, just a slight rough texture to the paint where it dried very quickly in the high temp. But I think when I get the washes and dust on it it won't look too bad.

Nice Pete, how did you make that camo net? I presuming it didn't come with the kit.
T-Tango
Aug 3 2008, 12:57 PM
Thanks Mish.
The camo net is yet another idea of Pete's (sniper), get a piece of gauze bandage, die it, then cover it in watered down PVA glue, roll it and then sprinkle it with dried mixed herbs.
I think he ought to pin this idea along with his tarpaulin idea.
