Hello gents,
I think we should have a roster of everyone with IL2 and all associated expansion packs..
I have everythign apart from the 1946 one. Now then, can I play with you lot on the 1946 expansion pack?
I say we all get it installed and set up and then jump on hyperlobby (a third party program that enables people to connect and join one anothers games very quickly and easily) and then either mess about formation flying and landing or shooting one another down. Please bare in mind I'm shite at dogfighting so be soft!

Am I right in thinking that they've recently released IL2 and the various expansion packs all in one box?
I wouldn't mind picking that one up.

Pacific Fighters & 1946?
1946 is all encompassing less the latest patch.

Get 1946, and you'll have everything.
1946 contain the basic FB game, and every other addon, with only one install to do.
And then, the lattest patch, to have the most recent version of the game, 4.08.

So then, who's actually ready to play?
I'd like to get us all having a quick flying session sometime!

OK guy I'm up for some online fun. but I haven't flown online before ( old computer was like a slide show) but with the new super doper one, I'm good to go!
I have done some online experience with BF2. So you'll have to point me in the right direction.
I have:
FSX
Lock On Flaming Cliffs
Falcon 4 AF
Pacific fighters

Do they include for WW1 pilots?
If so, I could be meeting up with you lot over the Somme river some time..

Okay gents,
The best way for us all to meet up is through a program called 'Hyperlobby'. It's basically a big waiting room where we can meet up, choose a game and then go and play a mission (us working together to destroy a certain target or escort bombers, do a fighter sweep...you get the point) or we could do a dogfight game (where we shoot each other) OR we could just fly about a circuit practising landings and generally laughing at each others terrible virtual flying skills.
In order to obtain this program, you have to download the client from here:
http://hyperfighter.sk/modules.php?name=Do...getit&lid=8Download it, extract it and then install it...set up a user name and password and you're good to go.
Now then, once we've figured that all out and decided on a game and specific time to meet up and play I'd say we're good to go!
I personally think IL2 would be a good starting point (preferably Pacific Fighters or above) I haven't got the latest 1946 pack by the way.
Phil @ Flory Models
May 13 2007, 12:11 PM
I have just reinstalled Pacific fighters and had a look for the latest patch.
Bloody hell that's a lot of patching. Is there a overall patch or do I have to do one patch at a time?

As far as the IL2 series goes, then if you want to play online and find someone with the latest version then it just has to be the
latest version that is common, last time I checked and played I could not find a game because IL2 had a newer patch or something, you need to be 100% compatible on Hyperlobby and your version of IL2 to connect with others, as I recall, you can connect to others you know on a similar version, but that's limited playability, right there.
My recommendation, if you want to try WW2 online aircraft combat, is just make sure you have IL2 1946, this is a compendium of all the series and well worth it, without IL2 1946 you are probably out of luck hooking up on line.
If you have this, then patch it, then create an account on
Hyperlobby now known as Hyperfighter.
Then.... we will be good to go.
I'd really like to try some on-line flying here

I when Flying online for the first time the other day. I was playing Lock on, on Hyperlobby I shot down 5 players in the SU-27 on my first go. But It was full of chav twats so I left.
It would be nice to fly with you lot so i will see what I'm misting and get it sorted

Jake, IL2 1946 is bound to be dirt cheap now from the likes of Play/24, you are getting a DVD full of the IL2 development from the past 5 years or so, its a steal if you want to have virtual fun online.
I'm really going to ramp up my activity for online flight simulation once I get my Ge8800GTX, hope to meet you all in the virtual skys.

I just got my new system a few weeks ago with a 8800GTX and is awesome. As a ATI user for the last 5 years I wouldn't go back to ATI again after using a 8800GTX

In the meantime, Phil, you have Lo-mac right? Fancy doing some formation flying sometime in the week? I've got the Flaming Cliffs add-on as well...

Yes TS2 or Ventrilo, whatever one! I prefer TS2 though.
I'll have to install it first and then download and install Flaming Cliffs and then patch it first

Should be on sometime in the week.
Phil @ Flory Models
May 20 2007, 05:05 PM
I have TS2" on a disk here some were I'll put it on.
Daz is a Lock on A-10 Fan so if he's up for it too.
Will we go in via Hyper lobby as I have had Problems with Ubi servers
Also I haven't hosted before so you might have to give me some pointers if you want me to host.

To be honest, unless Daz knows how, it'll be like the blind leading the blind mate. Although I'll give it a shot. I think I've done it before.

Welp I can play IL2 BUT I don't have 1946 installed which doesn't allow me to play with the chaps that do...(and I'm skint!)
Lo-mac would be better personally but I still have to install it and patch up.
...and I don't have FSX

OK peeps, I was testing out lock on last night on Hyper Lobby and got it up and running. It's very strait forward to get going.
But I don't no about comms. My Team Speak2 is playing up when I test it I just get a load of warbling back So if any one has any bright Ideas please shout now.
Then that way we can all laugh at each others flying skills or lack of

That's probably feedback. I use 'push to talk' which means whenever I want to chat, I have to push and hold a button. Works well for me. I just assign it to a keyboard button (or perhaps my joystick)

No it's not feedback because when I try it with Windows sound recorder it's fine and it is on push to talk. I will down load Ventrilo and try that I used to use it for BF2 and it worked OK.
If not we will have to use the cold war way e.g Canopy down for ready to to taxi, landing lights on for ready for take off and nav lights on for join formation
You never no, It might work or not

May 29 2007, 05:42 AM
Phil, I've been using TS a fair bit recently with guys I know who still play Raven Shield, in TS2 you can choose between wave or direct sound and there is also a slider for sound quality, you can also choose different sound codecs, it does work quite well once its sorted out, Ventrilo is clearer, but I've heard its best to use the old version, its still available for download apparently.
I should be getting my new GeForce 8800GTX today as well as a Raptor 150 HD, will be formatting the machine and installing everything again, but should be good to go by the weekend.
Phil @ Flory Models
May 29 2007, 08:08 AM
Hi guys, I installed Ventrilo and it work perfect no problems at all. I will have a fiddle some more with TS2 and see what happens.

I'm just getting ready to rebuild this machine and will be dual booting XPpro and Vista, will give IL2 1946 a go and let you know.

No way...you still play RvS? That's insane....you guys got a clan name?
Hunter
May 31 2007, 11:08 AM
No clan, but we used to play this in co op when it first came out, recently a friend suggested we install again and we had a lot of fun, will be playing again Friday evening if you (or anyone else) want to join in.
JakeEaton
May 31 2007, 10:55 PM
I played that game for 3 years non-stop with an online clan (who I still meet up with often)...
Awesome game. I'll have to see if my disks will install!

Jan 27 2008, 07:20 PM
So how did this all end up?
I play IL2 on line quite regularly, but I only have the ACE expansion pack with no other patches. I'm very interested in fighting with you guys online, we used to have a Friday evening match on Aeroscale. It's awsome playing with guys taht you know, as you can set proper perametres for the action, with no "Chavs" to get in the way.
I ask no quarter so I don't bloody well give any
