  1. Nice one, Mike! Looks great in Free French desert colors. I'm always irritated by the asymmetrical shape of the glass nose, it looks like it's squashed!
  2. Thank you, on musuem examples (as seen on internet photographs) the shovel blade is painted in green just like the rest of the tank. I wanted to presented a „worn look“. Therefore the underlying green color was scraped away displaying the bare metal surface. This required some extra paint work but I‘m happy that you like my result!
  3. A very thin layer of H79 Sand Yellow
  4. I used rubber-band leftovers from a Dragon kit
  5. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Zvezda SU-85 with stowage from Blackdog. Painted with Mr.Hobby acylics, weathered with artist oils, pastel chalks and graphite pen, the mud is a mixture of white glue, water, pigments and earth from the garden. Photos by Wolfgang Rabel. Zvezda provides a very neat solution with their bendable one-piece tracks, but they lack the characteristic sagging often seen on Soviet vehicles. I used rubber-band leftovers from a Dragon kit to replicate this effect (my attempt might be a bit exaggerated!). Thanks for your attention, best greetings from Austria.
  6. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Phänomen 25H Ambulance car, built from the box with some minor adjustments. The model was painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics. Photos by Wolfgang Rabel. The model is a typical multi-media short run kit consisting of injected plastic, etched parts and resin bonnet. It was a tough build, because fit is iffy and alignment of parts challenging. I replaced the photo-etched dipsticks and grab handles with pieces of stretched sprue. Thank you for your interest!
  7. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Centaur Dozer Tank from IBG. I added a few stowage items (from unknown manufacturers). The model was painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics, weathered with artist oils, pastel chalks and a mixture of earth, white glue and pigments for the mud, and sealed with Alclad II Klear Kote Flat. All photographs by Wolfgang Rabel. Disappointingly, the vehicle cannot be displayed with the excavator bucket raised, as shown on the box top art. Therefore, I cut the suspension with a micro saw, repositioned it and rebuilt the lost details on the sideframe. I also added a small cable for the headlight above the shovel. Thank you for your interest!
  8. Thank you for your interest, the IBG kit is miles ahead of the old ESCI offering, a smooth build with no filler required. My boxing did not include decals for a captured version.
  9. Dear fellow Britmodellers, this is my 1/72 IBG Fiat M13/40 Carro Armato (late production), built from the box with the addition of Blackdog stowage. All photogrpahs by Wolfgang Rabel. This is a rather tiny model, compared to German tanks of this era. It has a lot of nice details and was relatively easy to assemble. I added Blackdog stowage and chain from unknown manufacturer, the kit was painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics according to instructions. I assume the white circle on the turret top resembles an air recognition mark. Instead of using the decal provided, I painted it. Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. Best greetings from Austria!
  10. The famous "snake" scheme! Well done!
  11. Thank you for your interest! The tooling is from the early 1990s and has recessed panel lines. Fit was poor on the wing/fuselage joint, and the fuselage halves need a lot of filling and sanding, too. Pratt & Whitney engines, only used on the early production series. Later variants have three-bladed propellers. Thank you Mike, best greetings to Ohio!
  12. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Dragon T-34/76 (Mod.1942) in winter whitewash. I added a few Blackdog items and metal towing cable from Eureka, decals are out of the box. The model was painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics. Photos by Wolfgang Rabel. Thank you for your interest!
  13. Dear fellow Britmodellers, after a long absence from the workbench I report back with my 1/72 Revell Fw-200A Transport. The model was built from the box and painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics. Photographs by Wolfgang Rabel. Due to their age the kit decals are of poor quality. I swapped the national markings and walkways with aftermarket replacements and only used the code letters (note that the white frame around "DI" is out of register) from the original sheet. Thank you for your interest in this topic.
  14. I'm surprised by the size of the wings, they look so stubby! Nice paint work, especially around the exhausts, the combination of four different color combinations works well.
  15. Thank you for your interest, Wayne. I first applied the standard three-tone camouflage, then sealed it with clear coat, and finally sprayed the white paint (Mr. Hobby) in irregular coverage. I then worked over it with a fiberglass brush, graphite pen and sandpaper to create a worn effect.
