Great! Thanks, Troy! Carlos

John, first I would like to thank you for all your work related to the Canberra. And I blame myself for not saving all the info in the site. I just acquired a Matchbox kit and I was trying to save all the work related with identifying the inaccuracies and correcting them. Trying to bring old kits to a better standard is the most satisfying to me! Carlos

I already had found it in Cults - a few good quality engines there, either for free or for a small amount. Thanks for the tip on MeshLab - I installed it and watched a few videos. Certainly much more powerful than Freecad for mesh decimation. Would you please share the filter(s) and parameters used? May be one day my Airways vac will get build... Carlos -
Just found them. Here: https://soyuyo.main.jp/spit1a/spit1ae.html Carlos

Jumpei Temma! That's the name I was looking for. Thank you Dennis. Anyone knows where they can be found?

Reliable plans of the Spitfire, anyone? I saw some very good looking ones very recently here in Britmodeller but unfortunately I didn't save their location. Made by a japanese fellow, I think. TIA! Carlos

Thanks Col. But I plan to design and 3d print the radiator, the prop and a buck for vac forming the canopy.

Today I had a productive modelling time. The wings are glued and the tips were reprofiled. I detailed the wells a bit, using the IBG kit as a model. I will also use the metal ailerons from IBG (must convert them to fabric). Thanks for looking! Carlos

Malc, so far I don't have any other image, but I will certainly share with you if found others. One thing I didn't read about, but from photos the entry door seems to be fixed and puttied. What do you think?

I am planning a Speed Spitfire for a long time, and this GB is the perfect occasion for it. I will use Airfix old tool - a 2nd hand one, with the ailerons cut and one missing - and all the needed parts will be scratch built. I have a bag full of old Spitfire bits, and already found good candidates for the replacement ailerons. I also have have the new IBG and Eduard kits that will certainly inspire a less void interior. Apparently there aren't many book chapters or articles on the subject, but I've found an article by Anders Bruun on the conversion in Bent Throttles #3 and plans by the same author in BT #12 that I will use as a guide. Surprisingly "Spitfire the history" by Morgan & Shacklady misses the Speed Spitfire, so I just ordered a cheap copy of Alfred Price's "The Spitfire Story". I'm also trying to gather all the photos I can find on the web. Some progress very soon, I hope! Carlos
