  2. My Question today..Strenghtning strips on wings..some models have them molded on some models don't have them at all..Can someone clear the mystery of when and which types used wing strips to strengthen the wings in the 1940's..? I am about to finish MK V 1/48 from Tamiya and Special Hobby. Tamiya has strips molded on..S.Hobby none in sight. Both will be 1942-3 Malta and North Africa campaigns. Many thanks Giora

  5. Hi guys Need some help..Building MPM MK XI Spit to represent my flying instructor a/c in 1942-3.Based in Luqa.. I have a copy of his log book with serial numbers but no clear references on markings and colours..I susspect the usual blue red roundels in six positions and white serial letters/number. If you know any different please e-mail me at [email protected] I notice a big difference in PR Blue shade comparing Humbrol and Xtracolor..used the Humbrol fainter hue on my Spit. Again if anybody can comment on colours and markings please get in touch, Many thanks Giora Kahanov Oh forgot to mention I am not sure on colour of Spinner..Black? or PR Blue..??

  8. Hi guys, This May my flying instructor Keith Durbidge passed away at the age of 89..Keith got me to read the late Tony Spooner's book on his CO at the time the famous Adrian Warburton! (That was a few years ago and I still need to build Keith's Spit MK XI..) Now finally I am about to embark on a wee project to build Warby's last a/c an F-5B S.N 42-67325 from the 7th PRG at mount Farm 1944. I am looking to purchase a 1/72 resin nose conversion to either Airfix P-38J or the old Revell kit.. I am also interested on paint job for the above mentioned a/c..If you have any info and access to a nose conversion please get in touch. I am based in the Arabian Desert just now but will be visiting hame in Aberdeen and will attend Telford in Oct. and Nov. time Many thanks Giora.
