1/48 F-82G " Lackin' Blackin' " - Modelsvit
SasaU. posted a topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
My latest finished project is Modelsvit's excelent 1/48 F-82G Twinmustang. The kit is very nice, with excelent surface details, very good overall fit. Build was without any major problem, only few places needs few drops of superglue to fill some tiny gaps. I've used Quinta cockpit 3D decals, NewWare masks set and Eduard's pilot seats. Marking is from Caracal decal sheet but I've used only squadron insignia and Lackin' Blackin' inscriptions. All the rest was masked and airbrushed. The yellow spinners and red tails were not mentioned in Caracal's instructions but both are visible on photos in a book 'Images of War' on Twinmustangs. As with almost all of my recent projects some 3D printing was involved. This time I've replaced wing pylons, rocket launchers, HVAR rockets and exhaust stacks. Hope you like it as much as I enjoyed this build- 1 reply

My first attempt on a ship and first 1/72 armour I just needed some refreshing from other projects and decided to give the Biber a go. Special Navy's Biber and trailer combined with Trumpeter's SdKfz 8 12t halftrack. I've replaced wheels on trailer and on the halftrack with 3D printed ones. Also 3D printed are the torpedos. Biber's camouflage pattern is all masked and airbrushed.

I am trying to have my own printed parts on every build In this particular case I was not satisfied with the parts provided in the box. So I have re-model them and printed. The pylon for the tanks is also newly modeled and printed - just to fit the printed tank First option was to use resin replacement parts by AWC MODELS. That turned out to be a NO-GO. The spine fits but is asymmetrically distorted - straight on one side and curved on the other... So one of my friend offered me leftover parts from older Kinetic F-16 kits. The spine fit is not great. It needs to be widen some 0.75 mm in a very front part (see red mark on the image bellow). Quite some putty is needed to close some gaps between spine and fuselage. CFTs are much better, A bit of putty was used only in front parts around cockpit and cannon bulge. The most important is to install spine and CFT BEFORE the top and bottom parts of fuselage are glued together. This way you can apply as much pressure as needed to get a better fit Thanks -
During an inconspicuous discussion at E-day, I got the idea that I could build a two-seat F-16 - the same one that was flying over my head for the full 14 days of my vacation in Greece. I listened to the (damn) "F-16 expert" well known to all of us and bought the Kinetic Gold F-16D. I have no idea why they call it “Gold” — but that’s beside the point… On top of that, I also got the dorsal spine from AWC — which I strongly advise everyone to avoid…! In the end, I was given the spine and CFTs from older Kinetic kits (thanks, Honza), and finally start building at the end of October. Finished just now...finaly Decals are Zeus, seats MCC, exhaust Eduard, landing gear DW. IRIS missiles from Ammo, GBU bombs and tanks are my own 3D prints, canopy frame from 3D Chute Exp., pitot tube Master, AMRAAMs from Tamiya.

I've used kind of a mix mentioned in kit instruction, i.e. 4 parts Gunze RLM02 and one part Gunze RLM82. I've also used a custom mixed dark gray surfacer - grey and black Gunze surfacer 1500

Finished this model in 2,5 days including airbrushed marking. Only major issue was fitting of the top engine cowling which needs some trimming of the front fuselage. Main gear well needs to be modified for all Israeli markings. All S-199s were delivered to Israel with squared gear wells (109G-like). I have used Eduard Brassin 109F/G gear well inserts as a replacement of the ones in the kit. Other than that it is enjoyable kit

Thank you Well, the marking belongs to Anson 6077 (ex R9878) of No.7 Air Observer School which was located in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba during WW2. I've found it on Illiad designs decal sheet 48042 "BCATP Avro Ansons" and recreate it to masks. S.

Hi, my recent finished kit of Avro Anson Mk.I. Excelent Airfix kit built almost OOB - I've just added Quinta studio cockpit decals and tweeked tail wheel strut a bit. All markings are airbrushed using my own masks. S.

Here is my little creature which I've finished in 5 days during our regular "Build & Chat" session last week. ICM's kit builds with no problem. I've replaced the landing gear legs with the excelent Aerocraft set. Some PE from Eduard is used in the cockpit. Decals are from AOA "FAC & BS BOMBER OSCAR DEUCES". The conversion parts for O-2B (loudspeaker and leaflet dispenser) are my own 3D construction and print.

Nice build 👏 I have on my list of future builds, too.

Yes, this is from Royal Class boxing. I've made the masks by scanning and tracing the kit decals. The whole process including masking and painting was a lot of "fun"

Brand new Eduard's 1/48 P-40E build OOB. Excelent fit, very nice details, ... No decals were used. All markings are airbrushed. I just wanted to test my new tool - the Silhoutte Cameo 😀

1/48 Kamov Ka-52 Alligator - Zvezda
SasaU. replied to SasaU.'s topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thank you guys for all the nice comments -
1/48 Kamov Ka-52 Alligator by Zvezda. Very nice kit, falls together with almost no putty. Built mostly OOB. Except for cockpit from Quinta (must have as the kit lacks ANY cockpit details), decals are a mix of Begemot (marking) and in-box (stencils).
