  1. Built at the same time as the Jaguar, this is the much improved new 1/48 Airfix Buccaneer. Another very nice kit. Finished in Hataka Acrylics and decals from the kit/spares as XW544 of XV Sqn at RAF Laarbruch in the mid1970s. Again the inclusion of the engine blanks is a nice touch. zz20260519_141812 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260519_141819 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260519_141831 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260519_141846 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260519_141944 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260519_142042 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260519_142052 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  2. This is the new(ish) 1/48 Jaguar from Airfix. Lovely kit with lots of options. Finished in Hataka acrylics and decals from Modeldecal sheet as XX767 "17" of 226OCU at Lossiemouth. Nice inclusion of intake blanks. zz20260519_141517 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260519_141527 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260519_141536 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260519_141551 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260519_141600 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260519_141613 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260519_141722 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  3. My latest effort. The monster that is the Airfix 1/72 Concorde. It isn't the easiest kit to build but with a little care and research it looks OK. I used F-Dcl decals as the kit ones fell apart too easily. I drooped the elevons and glued the nose in the up position. The main issues were due to the model's size, it's 85cm long. Anyway - here it is. 20260501_111015 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20260501_111023 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20260501_111029 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20260501_111040 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  4. A quick easy build this one. The Dora Wings kit is very nice with fine detail. There are four decals options but I chose to make it as WG777 as it is at the RAF Museum Cosford. It's painted in Vallejo Deep Sky. zz20260415_154552 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260415_154600 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260415_154602 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260415_154617 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260415_154629 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260415_154640 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  5. It was Hataka A045. My previous effort an F-106 was finished in AK AK11867 which I thought looked a bit too green.
  6. One that's been in the stash for a while. The old Hasegawa F-4E finished in the markings of 66-0382 of the 57th FIS at Keflavik. zz20260314_152918 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260314_152903 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260314_152850 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260314_152840 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260314_152831 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  7. This is the new boxing of the Airfix 1/48 Lightning. Finished the markings of the CO's aircraft of 11 Sqn and as displayed in the RAF museum at Hendon. zz20260314_152806 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260314_152754 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260314_152748 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20260314_152737 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  8. Mine arrived today from Jadlam. Looks good. A bit of a typo on the marking diagram though. XP693 should be BAe Warton, not Woodford.
  9. Building real life spacecraft kits isn't something I've tackled over the years but I've rectified that now. I can't remember why I went down this route but anyway here they are. Airfix Vostok depicting Yuri Gagarin's spacecraft. zz20251204_114911 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr Ariane 5 in the James Webb Telescope launch configuration. 10. Built as a present for my Dad who flew in this aircraft last year, fulfilling a life-long wish at the age of 87. The kit is decent enough and the decals are made up from spares and represent G-CLXB/ML295 as it was last year. The kit needed a small mod as ML295 has cannon in the E-wing locations 20250819_154429 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20250819_154421 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20250819_154413 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20250819_154356 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  11. Thanks for the comments folks. Here's a photo with a Mirage IIIE. zz20250827_151305 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  12. It's been a while since I posted a build on here but here's my latest effort. This is Trumpeter's 1/48 F-106A. A very good kit with lots of fine detail. Finished in AK Interactive ADC Grey FS 16473 which sprayed very well. The decals are from a Bare Metal Sheet 48-31 representing an F-106A of 191 Fighter Interceptor Group at Selfridge AFB , Michigan in 1975. zz20250820_114924 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20250820_114920 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20250820_114835 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20250820_114823 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20250820_114808 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  13. My latest effort. This is the excellent Kotare 1/32 Spitfire. The fit is superb and so well engineered. So much detail and information in the instructions as well. I used an Eduard set to enhance the cockpit. The only flaw was my own making - the Top Notch masks left a residue on the Dark Earth paint that only became apparent when I sprayed the gloss coat on. It dried in lumps and took a bit of rectifying. It isn't perfect by any means. Anyway, here it is finished in decals I had left over from an Xtradecal sheet. 20250210_155957 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20250210_155948 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20250210_155940 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20250210_155932 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20250210_155920 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr 20250210_160013 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  14. A quick and easy kit this one. Everything fits nicely and goes together quickly and without filler. Finished in the short-lived colours of G-FURY in about 1981 as a companion to my earlier build of G-FIRE. zz20250202_135743 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20250202_135751 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20250202_140544 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20250202_140604 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr zz20250202_140619 by Derek N.Ferguson, on Flickr
  15. Thanks for talking the time to reply folks. Much appreciated. It's one of those kits that I was almost sorry it was finished - a very enjoyable kit.
