  1. Some time ago I read that the flap housing ( or whatever it's called ) was natural metal. The article was specifically about the Spitfire but I assume that all the fighters were the same, but what about the bombers? Any help would be appreciated Regards Brian

    Us Navy Colours

I've just bought the Revell 1/720 USS Ronald Reagan and it will be the first ship kit I've done in 25 years. Revell's colour instructions leave a lot to be desired (recommending their own paint (naturally!). Can anybody tell me what the FS numbers are for modern carriers, especially the carrier deck and hull, and which manufacturer has the best colour match? Thanks in anticipation. Regards Brian
  3. I've just bought the Revell 1/720 USS Ronald Reagan, It will be the first ship I've done in years ( I'm mainly an early jet modeller ), is there anything I need to look out for on this kit, accuracy etc? Also is there any after market for it-extra aircraft etc? Regards Brian
  4. Thanks for the offer but I already have the Humbrol SEA colours. Love the Crusaders btw, they look great Brian
  5. I'm doing US Navy Vietnam Gull Grey/White and US Airforce SEA scheme Green/Tan. Never thought about the Paint Forum-thanks,any idea how I move it? Brian
  6. Can anybody tell me if White Ensign Models paint is intended for airbrush only as I've tried painting with an ordinary brush ('hairy stick') and the paint seems to a bit on the thin side. I've bought five F-4 Phantoms from somebody on the ARC forum and I'd like to have an accurate colour match as possible, alternatively can anybody reccomend an alternative Regards Brian
  7. Can anybody tell me when the RAf changed the grey/green camouflage from a gloss finish to a matt finish? I thought somebody had asked this question some time ago but after a search I can't find it Brian
  8. I have a couple of these kits, I remember seeing on here some time ago that someone does a radome for this kit but I can't remember who. Could somebody point me in the right direction please? Brian
  9. According to Wikidpedia 25 Squadron was based at RAF Northolt at this time, doesn't really matter who's right and who's wrong the Blenheim still looks a good'un, well done!
  10. Looks great! Well done. Brian
  11. Probably not a good dogfighter because it was primarily designed as an attack aircraft - hence the A in A4, sorry not being sarcastic just giving a serious answer Brian
  12. I know just what you mean, I recently bought a cheap Kitech EA6B Prowler (it was £3.50 from my local Factory Shop)-just to get me back into the swing after a 15 year break. It ended up in the bin it was so bad, the first time in 48 years I've ever given up on a kit!
  13. That's very kind of you, I'll willingly pay for them if you let me know how much. PM sent
  14. The decals look fine, everything in register - carrier film looks a bit thick but nothing some microsol/fix won't sort out
  15. I've just bought an Eastern Express Sea Venom, the instruction sheet is a very poorly photocopied A4 sheet - no painting or decal placement instructions ( luckily I know what I'm doing - he says hopefully!). I've never bought an Eastern Express kit before, are they all like this? At the same time I also got 2 mathchbox Phantoms and an Airfix Vampire. The decals in one of the Phantom kits are in pretty dire condition, I know there are plenty of aftermarket decals for the Phantom but does anbody have any recommendations as to whose is best? Brian
