Just thought I would say hello as I am a long time lurker on the WW11 aircraft and ship forums.

I returned to modelling about 2 years ago (retired) and have completed 20+ 1/48s during that time. Trouble is I have only half finished another dozen. Always tempted by the shiny new box.
Half finished include the Tamiya 1/32 Mk IX, early hybrid Mk IX Spit, Mk IX FTF, MK VIII low back proto Spit (my favourite wub.gif), Mk XV11 (both these two awaiting a suitable canopy)
I also have a 60% Hood and an 80% Pola!!!

Started off in aircraft with FAA types (Eric Brown has led my ideal life)-Sea Fury, Gladiator (Roden), and Gannet (Dynavector-built before I knew vacs are difficult). Then Seafires seduced me to build Spits/Spits/Spits

Pet modelling hates
-my airbrush-great one day-a spattery spitty monster the next
-fitting canopies
-cutting vac canopies to size-is this possible or myth

Must builds
-a Wingnut Wings (have a Bristol stashed with Bobs buckles for when my fingers shrink and start to allow control)
-a Wyvern-wot a brute
-a Tiger-oh yes
-a B25-fav bomber

Hobbies
-throwing kits at walls
-playing my guitar-It keeps the seagulls away - no one knows why!
Best wishes to all

hi.gif aboard Mark. Sounds like you'll fit in nicely here smile.gif

Please don't throw kits at the wall though - we'll have to call the RSPCK on you... all kits deserve to be finished (one day). wink.gif

Wot, no Stringbag! biggrin.gif

I have a Tamiya Swordfish on the shelf which has been there quite a while. I must motivate myself to start it one day.

Wow-I've only just posted-thanks for the welcome (all I really wanted was a hello from Mish-you seem to make everyone feel at home).

Yes DC I have a Stringbag (Tam Mk2 variety in the stash)-my old boss in the 70s once told me he flew Malta Swordfish and I didn't know enough of the circumstances to ask more at the time-shame because those guys were top.

By the way -I'm a David really not a Mark (It's supposed to be a wordplay-not much of one granted)-just keep it to yourselves.

Can't contribute much technically I'm afraid (Edgar's my hero in that field) but once I master photography (I have a Sony dig0i-I will try to post pictures of models)

In the meantime If you want to know how not to build a Spit just ask.

Right -back to the PR11's (one Airfix one ICM-coming on nicely)

Hi Mark, and post1.gif

I hope you enjoy it here as much as I do.
