Cheers Hi Dave, 899sqn's 50th anniversary scheme is actually included in the Airfix kit; regading the later Dark Sea Grey Schemes, there was a sheet from an Italian company - can't remember the name, but I have used it - not a great sheet it has plenty of errors, but some sections are very useable... Cheers Bill. I must have older examples of the Airfix kit as those decals are not in the box. Oh well, have to buy some examples of the later kits.

Hi Dave,
If you have any accidents - heaven forend - with the set that's on its way to you let me know. I have several spare sets of those from umpteen FRS1s made in other schemes. Cheers, Nick This post has been edited by NG899: Mar 13 2010, 10:29 PM |

Thanks Nick. It'll be a while before I get to building a SHAR or two, as I'm busy building ships. But I have started getting the various AM bits and bobs together.
Ref the 50th anniversary scheme, I want to do this as I was at the celebrations and have some reasonable photos of the single and twin seaters that were there. |

Hi Dave, 899sqn's 50th anniversary scheme is actually included in the Airfix kit; regading the later Dark Sea Grey Schemes, there was a sheet from an Italian company - can't remember the name, but I have used it - not a great sheet it has plenty of errors, but some sections are very useable... I only noticed the post now that the decals were sorted... anyway the company was Skymodels from Rome. I'm 99% sure the are not around any more, however during their existance they produce sheets with an amazing number of options. Unfortunately the accuracy wasn't always great I have the 1/72 harrier sheet too, and agree that there are plenty of errors. Yet I managed to use these decals on 3 old kits I revamped a couple of years ago, including a matchbox SHAR. And the spanish markings for the AV-8S look good... now I only have to scratchbbuild the GR.1 nose on my Italeri Gr.3 to use them.... , |
