A useful set for the late-war German armour modeller, and one I'll be using myself since building the sWS Infrared Searchlight Carrier, which has kindled an interest in these ground-breaking gadgets, that could so easily have given the German troops an advantage if they'd been available in sufficient quantities.

Inside the glossy box is a selection of sprues that should be quite familiar to anyone that has perused the sprues of the above mentioned Searchlight Carrier. The contents consists of two sprues of Attachment parts, plus general infrared lights and control boxes for the cab, and the machine guns, one sprue each for the MG 34 and MG 42, and two clear sprues that provide all the lenses for the infrared gear (plus some extraneous searchlight lenses for the spares box). There is also a small brass fret of mounting straps for the IR sights and some wingnuts for further detail.

From these sprues you can build either two MG installations, 2 cupola installations, or one of each, as shown below in the CGI pictures.

Good value at £6.49, they can be purchased directly from The Airbrush Company, or any of the retailers that they supply.

I believe that these units were never actually issued to any German Army at any stage throughout the war.

There has been much discussion on another forum and it has now been documentarily proven that the picture of a Panther sporting on of these was a fake.

If you want to make a "What If" model - then this set looks pretty good.
