I have only just come across this thread nice work . Back tracking a little the new u/c looks like it is a little longer than the original , is this true and thus is the original too short?

I had not noticed until you brought it up. Yes it looks like the resin gear is taller. I suspect it should mount higher in the wheel well. I need to drag out my Esci kit and see if these are copies of that kit's gear. In this case I have used the original mounting points and the back end will probably sit high.

Something to remember for the next one.

Thanks Adrian,

Yes, if I can remove the digit and do a little more filling and sanding. Been concentrating on my KUTA II build lately.

Update time, first paint colour is on. I have found a few blemishes that need sanding and paint reapplied, hope to carry on with it this afternoon.

Hi Ray,

I have only just caught this thread. This is looking really nice. Inspirational build. You have given a new meaning to the saying, 'Patience is a virtue'. Great stuff and I am looking forward to the finished article.

BTW pass me one of those Cadburys Light Vanillas please.

Peter

Seems like a while since the last update and work has progressed and regressed and then progressed some!

I managed to get some paint on the wings but when I masked up to do the flight controls I managed to pull up the gloss coat when removing said masking. So I had to strip the wings and resand then. I have now got back to it and applied the black for the deicer boots and a metallic shade for the flight controls. This will be masked up in a couple of days and the next metallic shade added.

I was looking at some pictures of the tail area I decide reshaping it to something more like the aircraft would not be too difficult. I filed the fillet area flat and glued in a piece of card that will be reshaped to reflect the F-27-200 shape back there.

After adding some putty...

So this all sits under the masking waiting for the paint to dry and set up...

Stay tuned biggrin.gif

Trying to work on 4 different kits at once slows you down a bit biggrin.gif

Haven't heard from Dave yet, we have the club meeting tomorrow night and he supposed to be turning up. No doubt he will be a popular lad for a short while. I hope he managed to obtain a few goodies I asked for.

Ok, paint applied and masking removed...

Looking good. Brings back memories of a few bumpy Canberra/Sydney flights - nice aeroplanes.
