fu_manchu
Well, if all these CAD images come to fruition, Kitty Hawk will be getting a lot of my money! They will also cause quite a shake up in the market I feel.

Homebee
M. Song has just posted several Dassault Mirage F-1 CAD drawings in connection with the future Kitty Hawk 1/48th Mirage F-1 family. We can now also expect a two-seats Mirage F-1B... The death of the old as ugly as pricy Fonderie Miniatures kit ! Source: http://s511.photobuc...lovemen/uploads F-1B two seats F-1C/CT/CR etc. V.P. Wez
Well that looks fine and dandy! I like the corrugated effect in the jet pipe! To 1/72nd and 1/48th please! Wez
GreenDragon
Glad we're finally getting a mainstream B version in 48th. Hope they do them in 72nd as well. Amazes me that Heller never did one in 48th. Paul Harrison

pigsty
Nice to have the confusion cleared up. But I'd still be happier with 1/48 Mirage IIIEs and that. I've spent too much on improvements for my Esci F1 to give it up now!
Stephen
I'd better start building the Mirages and Jaguars I have in my stash. Stephen
jenshb
If the F.1 (the Osprey site lists it as an F.1A and B - wrong nose for the A) is due in October, they have to work quickly then if they are still tweaking the CAD... I'd rather have an accurate F.1 next year than an inaccurate one this month... Jens
guillaume320
From the CAD drawings, it would appear they 'forgot' the inner slats... I can only see the outboard slat???? OK the drawings might not be 'frozen', but this is basic airframe stuff, not a little detail (like the suspicious shape of the air intakes, which should be more 'rounded' where the half circle meets the vertical part, seen from head on, if that makes sense! ).... Still, it looks like its light years ahead of the ESCI, so now how to get rid of those...?!

Avgas
But I'd still be happier with 1/48 Mirage IIIEs and that. I was having a conversation with someone and he told me: I am a friend of Chris, the new High Planes models owner and you might be aware that they realeased few months ago a new plastic injected Mirage III in 1/72.Different variations are or will be proposed of course, the the dual seat coming soon...the South African Cheetah's will be of course treated in the future. And the same will be done in 1/48 scale, the test shots of this one should be done by the end of the year... And then he said: Yes, this 1/48 new Mirage III E and others is a good news, except the Italeri one, there was not much choice, or invest in big works on a Heller or Eduard IIIC kit. If I understand him correctly, there will be a new 1/48 injected Mirage IIIE in the near future. Edited October 3, 2012 by Avgass

horrido109
Sharp answer Mr Song .... In that case no excuse not to have all versions, CZ, AZ, CT, CR, C, E, B.... and Super Mirage F1 (with RD33 engine) Sorry Mike, no intention to hijack your threat, just some eye candy for the F1 fans... jenshb
Surely CAD and tooling resources could be spent more wisely than providing a proper engine that you glue inside the fuselage never to be seen again? I can't think of anything more pointless, and that feature is not going to make people ditch their Esci/Italeri kits - people will buy the kit in spite of it rather than because of it...
