The missus and I are going on honeymoon to Edinburgh within a few weeks so I'd like to know if there are any hobby shops I ought to visit while staying in Edinburgh. Also, is there anything else related to military aviation that I should not miss?

TIA,

And probably finish with as well, unless something else has popped up recently!!

Is the United Services Museum still in the castle?

Thanks for the replies! It looks like we'll have a busy week (and need to bring an empty suitcase).

Regards,

Scottish National War Museum's at the Castle, together with all the other things there. However if you're spending a week in Edinburgh, I very much doubt you'll have a lot of time for model shops!

One other place worth seeing is:

More general Edinburgh tourism is here:

Edinburgh also has some fantastic pubs, plus the National Museum of Scotland, plus the Britannia, plus the zoo, plus Holyroodhouse, plus Surgeon's Hall, plus some excellent guided walks, plus the Museum of Childhood, plus loads of other things.

Don't forget to visit Greyfriars Bobby!

And you'll probably be there for a least part of the Festival and Festival Fringe. Be aware, though, that Edinburgh is very busy at this time of the year.

We're just back after an afternoon in Edinburgh watching some of the street performers in the High Street and the city is absolutely jumping with tourists!

We arrived yesterday and have been wandering around Edinburgh today, and I see what you mean! Those tourists are everywhere... biggrin.gif

I'll see if I can get to visit some of the hobby shops tomorrow or Friday (we have been very close to two of them today apparently).

Oh, and we really like it here in Edinburgh! wink.gif
