This is my first post of an article on Britmodeller.com.

In 1934 the air ministry (RLM = Reichs-Luftfahrt-Ministerium) were looking for a high speed plane for the Reichspost that was able to carry a large amount of mail and up to 6 passengers with 2 crew. As a high speed postal airplane it did not have any weapons - neither on top nor on the bottom of the fuselage.

The base for this conversion is the old Airfix kit. It was quite handsome for this job because it had everything that one would need for this conversion. It had already the right engines and the correct fuselage. In the centre of the two wings was an MG-mount which was sanded off because it was not needed for the prototype. The same happened to the one on the bottom. On the control surfaces of the elevators were auxiliary elevators which were removed after the first crash. Unfortunately this aircraft did not last very long. It survived two crashes. But after the last one it was completely rebuilt and got a twin rudder. Then it had the look that we are used to when we are speaking of the Dornier Do 17.

Can Anyone please tell me how to post pictures?

Hi Siggy, sound like a nice model! To post pics you'll need a flickr or photoshop account, you then drop the image link into your posts and the pics should appear.

Sorry Folks. The upload of pictures is a bit complicated.

It doesn't work.

Hi Siggy,

Here'a a tutorial for Photobucket: http://www.howtogeek.com/forum/topic/tutor...use-photobucket

There are tons of this kind of step by step on the internet, for Photobucket, Flickr and other free photo sharing services.

Give it another try, I am very interested in your Dornier prototype.

Carlos

Slowly but sure, I'm getting really frustrated.

The answer I get is this: "Sorry, dynamic pages in the tags are not allowed"

I'm sorry to have bothered you.

Best regards

Very nice build of a beautiful aircraft. I have kept the Airfix kit to make the same... one day.

What did you use for painting?

and finally the last one. This was taken in the Museum's Park in which the Aircraft is now placed for the public.

I wish there would be some Museum like this. Actually this is our garden in which this photo was taken.
