About Me
My name is Stuart, 49 years old my home town is Kidderminster but I now live in Kingswinford West Midlands with my Wife & Daughter
Have built models on and of since I was about 8, my Nan always had an Airfix kit for me to build when we visited her. I always remember the first kit I ever painted it was the Airfix Crusader bright emerald green never had problems with decals sticking, the still wet paint always helped there.
Women & beer period over got back into model making after researching my Grandads RAF days with IX Squadron at Bardney during WW2, My aim was to build the aircraft he piloted on more occasions than any other ED666 WS-G 'Goofy' it was also the aircraft he & his crew failed to return in on 6/9/43, He also piloted Bardneys most famous Lancaster W4964, WS-J on five occasions. Bought the kit & some other bits in 1997 however the kits still resides in the loft with my small stash.
My aim is to build the kit in the near future after a bit of practice on a few other kits first I'm not a prolific modeller & I don't consider my skills to be anything other than average. I consider a nice paint job to be more important than accuracy, can't be dealing with this rivet counting thing, but having said that I do firmly believe in each to his own. Favourite aspect of model making is definately airbrushing, could'nt be without one.
Well thats me & thanks for looking
