As a retired person, I saw the need to get back into some modelling. In the 70's and 80's I was very heavily involved with large (10 foot plus) wing span radio controlled gliders, so not exactly new to modelling. I have to admit the last 18 months has been a bit of a challenge and quite a steep learning curve.
In my view plastic modelling techniques are infinitely more demanding than the larger wood and fibre glass aircraft. Airbrushing in particular has been an 'experience'. I have now completed 18 models with another two in mid-build.
