JosephLalor
Edgar mentioned Aircraft Grey in passing in the thread about Sky. Was this in BS381c prewar or was it added afterward. I'm inclined to wonder if it was the postwar identity of Ocean Grey, if only because I've seen FS 36187 cited as near matches for both over the years. The reason I'm interested in Aircraft Grey is because I want to do a RAN Skyhawk one day. Of course the other can of worms in that regard is Light Admiralty Grey. Dave Fleming
I assume you mean 693 Aircraft Grey? There's not a colour of that name in my scan of the pre-war BS381. Light Admiralty Grey is there as Light Battleship Grey
John
693 would make it colour 93 in the old nomenclature. My copy of BS381(1930) July 1941 revision only goes up to colour 73, Gulf Red. 93 must have been a rather later addition. Looking at my up to date copy of 381, 693 is quite a dark colour, I'd say about half way between Medium and Dark sea Grey. John
JosephLalor
Hi Dave, Yes, you assume correctly, thanks. My (unreliable) memory tells me that Lt Ad Grey is 697. I was thinking of using the Xtracolor renderings of RAF Ocean Grey and FS15414 on my A4G, if it ever gets that far. Joseph
