Recommended Spit kit.

I've got all the German and Italian kits gathered ready to begin my 1/72 Battle of Britain collection along with a Hasegawa Hurricane and MPM Defiant. But which, in members' opinion, is the best Spitfire kit in that scale - is it the Tamiya or is it still the old Airfix?

Thanks in advance,

John

Hi,

I agree with PeeBeep on this one.

The Airfix kit definitely has the edge as far as an accurate shape but it's an old kit with little/no detail. Tamiya is a quantum leap on the detail but if you're building a large quantity then I, personaly, would go for Airfix (it's much cheaper), and maybe do at least 1 Tamiya.

I'm planning a series of PR Spitfires and this is the way I'm doing it.
