tompot
All references I have show two rows. BTW I think that you'll find that there were no Hunters in WWII! Edited December 24, 2007 by tompot

Col.
Think the only Hunters to carry single row underwing serials were the prototype and pre-production machines such as WB202. Scratch that, talking pish. First photo in Francis K Mason's Hawker Hunter, Biography of a Thoroughbred shows a number of 54 Sqn. Mk.1s with single row serials. WT659, 656, 692 & WW636. StephenMG
Single row serials were the norm on F.1 and F.2 Hunters as they had no underwing pylons. The RAF switched to double row serials when the F.4 and F.5 came along so that they would not interfere with the stores pylons first introduced with those marks.
