American Infantry WWII

1:76 Revell

Revell’s 1:76 American infantry set shares its Matchbox origins with the German infantry set reviewed elsewhere on this site. The German infantry set proved to be pretty nice and happily this set follows suite. 49 figures are included.

Although the moulds are in their mid-thirties they are in good shape. There is very little flash, although each figure has a mould seam that will have to be cleaned up prior to painting. Uniforms have been nicely depicted with realistic-looking folds in fabric and smaller details such as ammo pouches and water bottles being nicely picked out.

The variety of poses and armament provided is very similar to the German infantry set. Soldiers are depicted with rifles, SMGs, flamethrowers and bazookas. A machine gun team and a mortar team are also provided, as are four officers in virtually identical poses to those supplied in the German infantry set.

Conclusion

This is another decent little set of figures from Revell. They may not be up there with the best resin figures in terms of quality, but the amount provided means that this is a good value set.
