Paul A H
German Infantry WWII 1:76 Revell Revell’s latest figure set includes 49 soldiers moulded in light grey flexible plastic. Unlike the other figure sets that Revell have released recently, this set is in the slightly smaller scale of 1:76, which gives away the sets Matchbox origins (according to the sprues these figures date back to 1976). As with Revell’s other figure sets, no assembly is required except for the two-part mortar. Given their age, the sprues are in remarkably good shape and are virtually flash-free. The only clean up that should be required will be for the mould seems. The mouldings are nicely detailed too. Uniforms feature convincing creases and folds, ammo pouches, webbing and water bottles are all nicely depicted, as are the various weapons carried by this miniature army. A good selection of figures is provided, including soldiers armed with rifles (with and without bayonets), SMGs, Panzerfausts, the aforementioned mortar, flamethrowers and a two-man machine gun crew. Four officers are also provided, two armed with pistols and two posing with a hand to the head staring into the distance. Conclusion This is a nice little set of figures and it represents good value for money. The quality of the mouldings is pretty decent and they should look nice under a careful coat of paint.
