Osher
Was reading in Airforces Monthly that the C/D series F-16 are to be retired off. Many of them though are older than F-16 in use in other counties, and, QED, also these countries lack the spares and knowledge for them. So, what to do with them? The USAF wants to replace the Phantom drones with these instead. Maybe a good thing for training, but, a waste maybe? What else can be done with them? Just sad to see them destroyed in this way. GreenDragon
I would have thought a few smaller air forces that haven't had F-16's before might want them, like the Philippines, Honduras or even Iraq. In the January issue of AFM Croatia have been offered F-16's for free, they just have to pay for pilot training, spares, refurbishment and upgrade, doesn't say which block though. Croatia is supposed to prefer new Saab Gripens though. Paul Harrison

J35 Draken
Maybe flog a couple to the National Test Pilots School or something. Unless they get sold on to other armed forces they'll probably just sit in the desert at Davis-Monthan.

GreenDragon
I've often wondered what bright spark decided burying planes was a good idea! Paul Harrison
