German Infantry Africa Corps WWII

1:72 Revell

The Afrika Korps have gone down in military history, along with their legendary commander Erwin Rommel, for their exploits during the North African Campaign. The Afrika Korps were involved in many famous engagements including the battles at Tobruk, Gazala and El Alamein until their eventual surrender in May 1943.

As with their Scottish Infantry, Revell’s German Infantry set includes 50 figures spread across two sprues of beige coloured flexible plastic. No assembly is required except for the two-man machine gun team which will need to be fixed to a base along with their weapon

Some of the figures have a little flash here and there that will need to be cleaned up, but for the most part the mouldings are pretty good. Although the detail and finish is not on a par with some of the state of the art injection moulded figures from the likes of Dragon in this scale, the figures included here are actually pretty good and details such as the folds in clothing are nicely represented.

A number of different figures are included in addition to the aforementioned machine gun team. These include figures carrying water canisters, drinking from cups, standing to attention and in various combat poses.

Conclusion

While this set might not feature the best figures in this scale, they are still pretty nice and it does represent good value for money.
