Hello all,

This is one of two projects I've started it's the Ital 1/48 Gripen. The kit is nice, apart from the decal cockpit, the wheel wells are good. I't is going to be pretty much out of the box,due to the fact there doesn't seem to be much in the way of aftermarket stuff, any way here are some pics.

Small amount of filler needed at the wing roots.

Looks very good! :speak_cool:

A small tip, cut of the two smaller antennas on the spine and replace them with (much)smaller ones. If you do replace them make sure you put them somewhat to the left on the spine. Also, the nosegear of the kit is too high, it needs to be shortened by a 4-5mm. The Gripen has a slight nose down attitude on the ground.

Looks good. I reckon a little more color to tone down the pre-shade would give it a more subtle look though... :)

Thanks chaps,

This is my second attemp at pre-shading,The first time was on A-7, and had the opposite result I ended up painting the pre shade back out :banghead: :banghead:

so I'm still just getting the hang of it.

Hello all,

Just a quick update, I've finished the weapons and it's pretty much a matter of stiicking all the last bit's together.

Here are some pics.

PC290007.jpg

There was no decals for the weapons so I just used some old ones from my spares,

so there not right but jazzez them up a bit.

Looks great... Those weapons will really bring it alive too. I used to hate painting weapons as a kid, and would often not bother, but these days I really enjoy making them look as good as possible, because they do add a great deal of realism to a completed build :)

I agree with you that they certainly add that final extra touch to a finished build and I do try to do any weapons load justice, but they still always seem like a chore to me, same with undercarriage, don't know why just does.

I missed it - what kit was this? It looks really nice for a guy who is not too big on the modern stuff.
