AnonymousDFB1
looking good, silly question time, but what paint do you use for your primer? Normally I use any Tamiya grey, but because this is a big beasty I used a can of Halfords primer.

Bertie McBoatface
Nice one Mish. It's coming to life now and looking very 'early war' if you know what I mean. I like that period with its red white and blue!
Murdo
That looks really fantastic Mish. It's a real pity the cowling has to be fitted, that engine looks superb. The gunners position looks excellent too. Just as a slightly off topic (and possibly stupid) question... Was there anything to stop the rear gunner shooting their own tail off? AnonymousDFB1
Thank you all Just as a slightly off topic (and possibly stupid) question... Was there anything to stop the rear gunner shooting their own tail off? From what I can see from the model and my research there is nothing to stop him shooting himself down. It apears to be a free mounted .30 Cal and in later models (just after this one) they switched to twin .30 Cals. Chris FFZ
My old man was a door gunner on flying boats for part of the war, he said that the rear gun on navy planes had a manual interupter that prevented fire if the gun barrels were pointed at the tail, similar to the interupter gear used in nose guns.
