ursa_major
Superb set of pics! Thanks for posting them, and yes, I'd certainly love to see more in the same vein please! Was the 92sqn Lightning shot in RAFG? The HAS doors look like the RAFG ones - can't recall any being built to that pattern over here. G.
Giorgio N
Great pictures, thanks for posting ! The Lightning should be in the RAFG, 92 Sqn was based in Germany with F.2As when that colour scheme was used. I particularly like the Hunter shot and the belgian F-14. In the latter picture there's also the rear end of a danish Draken... the weathering on that one is crazy ! FTW
Evening Here are a few more scans - unfortunately they were a bit more dusty than I thought so I will clean up future posts Most of the Lightnings were taken at Leconfield on a private visit when Binbrook was closed for runway repairs others were taken at a Finningley display in the mid-70s and the RN stuff was at an HMS Gannet Open Day. The 23 Sq F1A was a decoy at Leuchars - ex Leu TFF. The POCU/PTF F4 was taken at Leuchars - once again apologies for the dust! F

Howard of Effingham
very nice photos indeed. especially the gannets, as i recently acquired a couple of vacform 1/72 AEW3s and the shots are a KUTA to at least look at them. however the hastings and the victor come a very close second too. thank-you for posting them. Fmk.6john
Frank, First shot in post #10 of XR752 has to be one of the best shots of a Lightning I have seen in a long time, the tail code puts the date either late 74 or early 75 when 5Sqd were on detatchment at Akrotiri (possibly!), would be nice to know a little more. 752 had quite a busy life, FCTU, 5, 11, 23, 111 all had her at some time, first flown by de Villiers 16/6/65 as an interim F.6 then being fully converted to F.6 standard in 67, she suffered several incidents including a siezed ATG, canopy loss, engine fire, ECU failure before finally being made Cat 5 in 85 and placed for spares recovery, the scrap mans axe finally fell during 87. Wonderfull shots Frank, keep on posting! JB.

keefr22
Lovely stuff, you could never post too many of these Frank!! Please keep them coming. My favourite so far, despite all the glamourous fast movers, has to be that lovely old Hastings in the first batch - beautiful!! And I do like FG1 012 that goes to show that the somewhat common idea often bandied about that RN aircraft were spotlessly finished 'in the interests of corrosion control' was not always true....!!! Absolutely brilliant pics!! Thanks Keef
FTW
Afternoon All My next offering including some Hunters from when the wings fell off a Buccaneer at Red Flag and the fleet was grounded als Navy stuff from a Rosyth Navy Day , Super Sabre at Sculthorpe and Battle atStrathallan F
