Hi Andrew and welcome to the GB :welcome: You're a brave man tackling a shine like that!

Cliff

The machine in that particular photo was 'polished up' for a Royal visit, in normal operations there were not nearly as polished as that.

Very cool, but very big. Where on Earth are you going to keep it when it's finished?

Andy

Haven't really thought about that yet!

Got 2 B-29's in the 'pending' pile. One is going to be a Washington, the other may be cut up and become an under construction at the maufacturer dio !!

Just ordered a set of Kits at War decals for the Washington from Aviation Mega store.

Me too!

The second one though I'm not so sure what to do possibly converting it into a Tu-4 or one of these...

Depending on how this one goes I might get another kit or two because there are quite a few I would like to do no that I think about it......

I did a Tu-4 a few years ago with the now OOP Cutting Edge set.

Would love to do another

I would love to get my hands on one of those sets!

Well very good luck with this one Andrew, my late dad took that photo way back when in 1953 and I scanned the slide onto A.Net a few years back, way too much of a blue shift to my eyes now, must do that one again sometime soon when I have 'nuked' my troublesome PC! She was definitely gussied up for the review. He would have been delighted that an experienced modeller like yourself would have used his photo as a reference. Look forward to the finished build and please forgive me for getting a bit misty eyed at this point!

Thank you

Michael

Time to get started...

As per most builds it starts with the cockpit and Monogram provide lots of detail here and throughout the model.

P1010849.JPG

Still a few details to pick out but the cockpit is almost done now just the rest of the interior!

Can I be real cheeky and ask you want you're going to do with the kit stickers? Thunderjug needs a set for his SAC build.

W

I wasn't planning to do anything with them PM me and I'd be more than happy to send them to you

Cheers Andrew
