Antony Robertson
Hi all My entry is going to be either a Revell 1/72 b.I/III or a Revell 1/72 Dambuster, not sure which yet. Pics to follow when I get them in from the garage. Antony
Antony Robertson
I've finally got round to starting my build after deciding on the Revell B.I/III The obligatory box top I haven't decided on which particular aircraft its going to be yet, but it hasn't stopped me starting the build! I've also got an Eduard pre painted phot etch cockpit set and some canopy masks. This is progress so far This is a picture of some of the photo etch in place, and i have to say it looks good, but not that much better than the kit decals Thats all for now Antony

Antony Robertson
Update time I managed to assemble the fuselage and wings no problem at all, all 4 nacelles were then built and fitted with the 2 gear bays requiring a surprisingly large amount of filler to blend them to the wings! Then all the other bits were glued to the fuselage prior to priming. When it came to the bomb bay doors I discovered they were a good 3-4mm too long for the hole! Don't know if anyone else has had this problem? A good round of scraping and sanding followed to prose them into the hole, DISASTER!! While fitting them( which still needed a fair bit of force), there was a loud crack, swiftly followed by the fuselage becoming quite bendy in the middle whet it snapped! Much swearing and cursing followed, along with some glue to try and repair it. I've come down this morning to assess the damage and said plane has dried looking like a banana so it's hit the bin! I'll dig out another kit and start it later today, but in the meantime I've got a couple of engines and some bombs going spare if anybody needs/ wants them? rowmk9
Oh no! a real shame that. I had to 'tweek' the bomb bay doors a little to get them to fit better, but I didn't find them 3-4mm off. Either way I guess you can try and take solace in the fact that you have some useful Lancaster spares left over!
Speckled Jim
Hope you didnt bin everything, If you simply carve out the interior it saves you some time!
Antony Robertson
Hi all I've managed to save all the interior bits, which will help when I start again. Unfortunately I don't have another Revell kit in the stash so I'm off to Trago Mills on Saturday to grab another and any other bargain price kits they may have! Antony Robertson
Right, I've acquired another kit and building has started with the interior. No point putting any pictures on as they're the same as the earlier ones! More updates over the weekend. Antony

Antony Robertson
Just noticed your previous bad news, gutted for you as it started so well too,. I've built two Revell kits now and they've both been spot on, how bizzar. It is odd as everyone seems to have had no issues with theirs and the one I'm doing now has loads of flash around a lot of the parts whereas the other one had none at all! Fingers crossed this one will make it Antony
