The F-8s were ex french They were ex USN F-8H, chosen among the airframes stored at Davis Monthan Looking at this pictures shows clearly they have the radome typical of the Crusader versions before the E (the H is a rebuilt D) http://www.airliners.net/photo/Philippines...ader/1645399/M/ The French planes were F-8E(FN), a version of the E with some features that were later added to the F-8J.
