Hi,

I've finally finished my 1/72 Revell DC-3 representing the aircraft at the Thai Air Force Museum. I have not put any decals on it as I didn't have any to hand.

There are some pics of the original aircraft in the in progress thread click here

And here are some pics of the finished item. Feel free to comment and criticise as it's a good way to learn.

Nice work, I think the fading effect on the paint has come out really well.

That's one sad looking Dak you've got there.

Are you going to put it in a dio?

A lot of scratch building on that and I love the deflated wheels. Perfect.

Thanks for all the comments everyone, they're greatly appreciated.

I am going to put it on a small dio. I am going to have it resting on planks almost like in the pictures of the real thing in the in progress thread. I bought some Earth coloured Tamiya textured paint from Modelzone today but having put it on the base I realised it's too dark :banghead: , so I shall have to return to get some lighter coloured paint (although I may first try spraying over the existing too dark textured paint because at £9.50 a bottle, the base is turning out more expensive than the kit :hypnotised:

I'll post a pic of the completed diorama when it's done.

Nice job, there used to be quite a few of them (C47/DC3) dotted around U Tapoa airport hidden away in revetments, you could see them when you took off or came into land at the airport. There was also a scrapyard on the side of the main road from Rayong to Bangkok that used to have some aircraft slowly rotting away.

Cheers
