About Us

We are a new company producing paint masking products for 1/72nd, 1/48th, 1/32nd, and 1/24th scale models. Our product range will offer a range of national markings, code letters and serials for aircraft and will also include unique masking products which will ease the painting and detailing of your models.

With a life long passion for aviation we want to leverage the experience and attention to detail developed during over 20 years in the aerospace industry in the U.K., Europe and North America to provide the best, easiest to use, scale model paint masks available.

Our goal is to become your supplier of choice for model masking products by producing high quality, well researched, accurate paint masks at an affordable price that are easy to use and produce perfect results every time. We will do everything we can to ensure that our customers are more than satisfied with the service and products we provide.

Our Masks

Our masks are manufactured from 0.003" (0.08mm) thin translucent vinyl masking material which does not mark or lift the underlying paint due to it's low tack adhesive backing. The thin flexible masking material adheres easily to sharp curves and has a slight "stretch" to enable it to conform to surface irregularities. The translucency of the masking material assists in the accurate positioning of the mask.

To ensure the highest quality and accuracy the masks are cut on professional grade high quality computer controlled cutter/plotters capable of cutting to an accuracy of 0.0004" (0.01mm).

Each mask sheet is supplied with full colour instructions and a set of pre-cut transfer vinyl to aid in the positioning and application of the masks. Where space allows, spare masks are also provided on each mask sheet.

Our Website

Our website is now open for business. Please take a peek and let us know what you think. Our initial products are focussed on RAF and FAA markings but we will be adding to the range on a regular basis and expanding it to include markings of other nations.

We will be making our new product announcements on this forum as well as on our website so check back regularly. We hope that you will enjoy what we have to offer. We accept Visa and Mastercard as well as PayPal for payment.

If you have any questions or suggestions for products please don’t hesitate to contact me at ian@adatramasks.com , we want to produce masking products which you want to use so your input is important to us and is very much appreciated.

Finally, I’d like to thank Mike Reeves of Two Mikes Resin for his invaluable advice, without it Ad Astra Masks wouldn’t have been born.

Ian

Also your menu system doesn't work on Safari on an iPhone, so I can't see your products - I'll look on a PC later, but worth bearing in mind that it does stop people being able to look.

Hello All,
I have a set of custom made Ad Astra masks for a project involving a DH Beaver, and I think they're extremely well done. I will be contacting Ad Astra for future projects where there is a need for custom masks.
Just to let you know, I have no personal relationship with this business or it's proprietor

Link now fixed.

Dan,

It's a mouseover menu - just place the mouse cursor over the RAF/FAA menu and a sub-menu should appear, move the mouse over that and another menu will appear, click on the option you want. Please let me know if this doesn't work for you.

Adaware

Wez

Wez,

I've just downloaded and installed Adaware and accessed the site with no warnings. Can you please try again and e-mail me at support@adastramasks.com with the details of the warning(s) if the problem persists.

Dan

Dan,

I've just logged on to the site with my iPhone, touched the RAF/FAA icon, the sub-menu pops up correctly and stays "popped-up". Selecting from the sub-menu also works correctly, so I am puzzled as to why you have a problem. Can you please try again and e-mail me at support@adastramasks.com if the problem persists.

Thanks again guys,

Ian

Andy,

You probably need to flush/delete your cache (under tool/clear recent history in Firefox) then when you next click the link all should be O.K. BTW the banner in my sig below is a link to the site too.

Ian,

It's actually my Fire Wall that threw up a feature called Check Point - I didn't know it did it and it took me by surprise a bit. It's still doing it.
