Pete M.
Hi to all. Attached are some photos taken over the past few weeks of the Vickers/Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vc BL628 c/n CBAF1660, being re-built at Ardmore near Auckland in New Zealand. The first couple are of the engine runs undertaken earlier in the week, and the later ones are of her being prepped for her first flight this past Saturday morning. She was flown by Keith Skilling, one of our most skilled warbird pilots, on the Saturday afternoon. The aircraft is registered to Provenance Fighters Inc. of Las Vegas, USA and the test flights were undertaken from Ardmore before being boxed up and sent to its new home. More on her build can be seen at the following link. http://www.warbirdrestoration.co.nz/current.html#vc Photos via Anthony Galbraith taken by Andy Hoskings (who worked on her) and Kerry Carlisle. Dave Stewart supplied the pre-flight preparation photos and the brief notes. Enjoy, Pete M. Hopefully I'll have some more to post in the next few days. Mike
The nose profile's wrong, the thrust line is out by 4mm, and the rear fuselage is too "pinched" But seriously folks... Mmmmmmm..... Spitfire
