yeehah1
25-09-07 Ok, I am building a 1/32 Hase Spitfire Vb. I have a question about the tailplane and what should be on the top surface, texture wise. The big one is from the Trumpeter 1/24 VI kit, the smaller one is from the Hase 1/32. As you can see following hte red lines I have drawn on it, the Trumpeter tail-plane has ridges on its upper surfaces, but the Hase Vb doesn't. Should I make the Hase Vb conform to the VI kit? They were quite similar, weren't they? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Liam
Radish
The Trumpeter tailplane is wrong. Hasegawa is nearer....so get sanding, friend!

Edgar
Leave the Hasegawa kit alone; tailplanes were metal-covered, and therefore smooth. Elevators were fabric-covered, with the ribs visible, but nowhere near those of the Trumpeter kit. Hasegawa got it right.
