Ok, I am building a 1/32 Hase Spitfire Vb. I have a question about the tailplane and what should be on the top surface, texture wise.

tail_planeissue.jpg

The big one is from the Trumpeter 1/24 VI kit, the smaller one is from the Hase 1/32.

As you can see following hte red lines I have drawn on it, the Trumpeter tail-plane has ridges on its upper surfaces, but the Hase Vb doesn't.

Should I make the Hase Vb conform to the VI kit? They were quite similar, weren't they?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Leave the Hasegawa kit alone; tailplanes were metal-covered, and therefore smooth. Elevators were fabric-covered, with the ribs visible, but nowhere near those of the Trumpeter kit. Hasegawa got it right.
