When you join the forum, you go through a manual validation process, where we try to establish whether you're a genuine member or some spammer that's come to annoy everyone & try to sell us things we don't want or need.

As it's manual, there's sometimes a delay in you being able to post and send messages to other members. Patience is the watchword here, as we're only 3 Mods, and sometimes we're not at our computers for one reason or another.

So... sit back, surf the forums for a while, and wait for your member title to change from Validating to Member. Don't re-register thinking your account is broken, and there's no need to contact a Mod - most people get through validation in a couple of hours, with a couple of days being the absolute (and far from ideal) maximum when we're under a heavy load.
