Arkady72
The Grumman OV-1 Mohawk is an armed military observation and attack aircraft, designed for battlefield surveillance and light strike capabilities. It is of twin turboprop configuration, and carried two crewmembers with side by side seating. The Mohawk was intended to operate from short, unimproved runways in support of Army maneuver forces. After the South Atlantic War in 1982, the Argentine Army underwent a complete reorganization on its command structure, in order to improve its capabilities and to take advantage of the war experiences and lessons learned during the brief but bloody conflict. The ending of the United States imposed arms embargo on Argentina, and the close relationship between Argentine and the US Armies resulted on the approval for the transference of a number of Grumman OV-1D Mohawk by 1992. The Comando the AviaciĆ³n sent a commission to United States in order to inspect and select the aircraft that would be acquired.. A total of 23 units were initially accepted, with deliveries starting by late 1992 according with the retirement schedule of the type from US Army service. My model was made of Roden's kit with the use of BIG-ED photo etched parts. I used also an excellent decals IsraDecal IAF-50. I really like the models with unique markings. Here is one of them:

Spitfire31
Beautiful build! It really has that 'shrunk reality' feeling. And it's good to see some less hackneyed subjects given 'The Full Treatment'. Inspirational! Mentalguru
That's extremely crackingly good- well done! Did you do the "rivets" yourself? If so, that's a perfect job- and you get an extra mark- so that's now 11/10......
Arkady72
Yes, I did rivets by myself with SBS-Model rivetmaker and flexible blue 3M tape .

ChancerUK
Excellent model, shading and weathering is spot on. The choice of markings is a great change from the normal U.S. machines.

goon
Oh wow! What a superbly finished model, in extreemely interesting markings. It really gives a representation of the weight and presence of the real thing. I nearly bought one for the stash a couple of months ago. How did you find the kit went together? Arkady72
How did you find the kit went together? Without major problems, Roden's kit are not so bad.
