The wood effect was nothing fantastic, I just used Vallejo Model Colour beige as the base colour then when that was dry I went over it with Winsor & Newton Artisan water based Raw Sienna oil paint with a flat brush to get the desired wood grain effect, left it for about 4 days, the oil paints take a long time to dry, then when it was well dry copious coats of Klear to get the gloss. Another update, it's starting to look a bit like a plane now, the prop and cockpit cowling are only placed on for effect, not permanently fixed as yet, any comments as always gratefully received.

Cheers

Pete.

That's coming along nicely. Thats colour equals my impression of PC10, i'd be interested in what paint you used.

Cheers, Gary

Morning all, time for another update, it's starting to look a bit like a 'stringbag' now, the top wing was only placed on for effect, it's not a permanent fixture as yet.

As usual any comments most welcome.

Cheers

Pete

Thanks Mike, it looks a bit pristine at the moment, hoping to get some Western Front muck and grime on it in due course.

Hi Robert, it happened by accident, I sprayed the wing with olive drab, then taped up the wings for the rib-tape effect, added some white to the olive drab to make it a bit lighter sprayed the wing again when I took the tape off the rib -tape effect was too wide made it look like a bl**dy zebra so I cut some tape in to 1mm strips re-taped the wing ribs and resprayed the wing olive drab again, when I removed the tape that was the effect that it left, I'm fed up with taping the wings now so thats the way it's gonna stay.

Pete,
Looking nice old bean.

If you want to tone the ribs down, load your airbrush with the olive drab thinned 70% thinner 30% paint. build up thin layers over the ribs to merge them with the base colour. It's all about subtlety me old fruit. It won't take you long. You want it so the eye can barely see the difference.

Good luck!!!!!!

Thanks for the comments and help guys, I really appreciate it, have started on some of the rigging now, I must admit I'm quite enjoying it, perhaps I'm a bit warped?????
