I guess it's just sheer wing area - can't think of many aircraft which would collect snow more efficiently than a Vulcan. Looks like the tail warning radar has come off. I hope they get her sorted out soon! Looking at those pictures, it makes you realise how easy it is to make a Vulcan look substantially smaller than they in a photograph!
