boeing 727 in 1/96 scale

Recommended Posts

Hi Rich,

Whats the manufacturer of that kit, it's an odd scale for a 727, I know there are a few 1/96 scale kits particularly of the Viscount, Caravelle, Britannia and Comet from the old Frog and Lindberg moulds for which there are a few sheets available.

Take a look at TwoSix decals, Ray produces some excellent decals and specialises in some of the old British operators.

Good luck in your search.

its made by auroura. I cant see any dates but it is very american!

Says they also did a boeing 707, TU104 and a DC-8.

Could do with some decals. Fancy BA. May have to try making my own!

BA didn't operate 727's as far as I know - apart from one I've seen in South Africa used by a 'partner' airline in BA colours.

Ive started this. Fusalarge was badly warped, and have cut up the wings to show flaps deployed.

Any ideas on a operator?????

Want somthing british realy.

Dan Air?

Two-Six do two sheets in 144. If you contact Ray there, he may well scale them up for you?

Both those are for 100 series short body aircraft though - don't know what your model is? Dan-Air did also use 200's but you'd probably have to paint the cheatlines.

Can't think of any other British operators of the 727 off the top of my head!

Here's a link to airliners.net for the Cougar Airlines 727's that we often had coming into Edinburgh a few years ago. linky http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.sear...inct_entry=true

Just found this Sabre one. Linky http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=0142...next_id=0136020

And this one was actually operated in Britain by British Airways for a while. Linky http://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=0082...next_id=0082192

Good find on that last one! I actually trawled through the BA 727's on A.net last night to see if any had actually been used in the UK but managed to miss that one!

And just how cool is the Cougar machine??!!!

The Sabre machine looks well within the realms of hand painting too!

Only reason I found the American Trans Air/BA 727 was because it was doing a lot of shuttle flights into Edinburgh and I just went through every airport in the UK big enough to take a 72 that was listed on Airliners.net! It took bloody ages Keef! I did the same with the Cougar and Sabre ones. That Cougar scheme is stunning isn't it? very :speak_cool:

The only 727's in full BA colours were the South African based Comair ones. Linky to two pages of pics. http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.sear...ine_version=6.0

Looks like every recent BA Scheme since the Landor one.

Plus there are the many different versions of the Dan Air schemes.
