This is the next project. I shall hopefully take the best bits of these three kits to make a Super Puma of the Royal Saudi Navy. I have a photo of one in the Gulf Air War Debrief book, just the markings to sort out now.

For this adventure I am mainly using the Italeri AS332 kit with bits taken from the other two. As you can see the cockpit has been built up, using the Heller seats as they looked a bit more realistic. I don't know what goes in the fuselage so I will probably leave this blank unless anyone else knows better. I will hopefully get the fuselage together sometime this week.

Haven't forgot about this one. I have been trying to find at work some pictures showing the inside of the engine cowlings at the rear, and the person who knew where they were was not at work until the last few days before the Christmas break. Anyway the fuselage is now together and it is progressing quite well. The only problem that I have encountered so far and it is not on the pictures is that the cockpit glazing is too narrow at the rear where it joins the fuselage, hopefully I will find a way around this.

Nice kit bash. I like that sort of thing.

Looking at the first kit, the Heller box top, Im struck with a thought - - How would you like to fly that mission: slogging along at wavetop, egg-beating yourself in close enough to lock on to a capital warship - so as to launch an Exocet.

I recall we could spot small pontoon boats skimming the surface, at wild distances. That bridge conversation might go something like this:
"Oh look, sir; they just launched a helo. Should we target?"
Not yet... let them get clear of the pad, first. Call me when they get within a hundred and fifty miles..."

Another quick update on how things are going. I have now painted the white on the upper part of the fuselage and engine cowlings. The front canopy has been masked (over 2 hours of deep joy) and await paint, hopefully tonight. Then the rest of the fuselage will be painted.

Here is a quick update on the Super Puma. The painting is now complete and I will be decalling in the next few days. I have one slight problem in that I have found that although I thought that I had enough white lettering for the codes on the tail it now looks like I don't. Still I will have a rumage around in my spare decals to see what I can find.

No photos this time, but some work has been carried out on the kit. Most of the decals have been applied, but I have run out of letters to make up RSNF, so I oredered some from Hannants last week, and I am waiting for them to arrive. In the mean time I have been making up the main rotor head and a few of the smaller parts. Hopefully the decals will be here tomorrow.

Jabba, I was browsing through the Gulf War threads and found yours.

Beautiful looking build mate, well done.
