Hi folks did all American DH4's have Liberty Engine's or were some have them built with British engine's.

According to Air International March 1985 (p.138) all American built DH-4's were powered by the Liberty and had a two bladed prop.

Yes thanks Max it did help. but i did read somewhere that only DH4B's and those after had liberty engines.

I have to say that this is way out of my comfort zone, but the same article suggests that they only had the one pattern aircraft in the US. Whether they got their hands on any British stocks once they arrived in Europe I can't say. Does anyone have access to a "Windscock" book?
