Stonar
I'm sure Nige will tell us all about the need for a Sharpie or similar soon enough. I happen to know he's working to a sort of deadline on this one, at least for the underside.lol. Stona
lampie
Deadline?..............just a small one. Russ and his wife Joan have just been over here on a short holiday, the first time Russ has been back to the UK in 65 years. We have been chatting via email for a long time now, and the Kylers invited myself and Gill ( SWMBO) to spend a few days with them, so we took Russ along to see some his old haunts. While he was over Russ did a talk at Boxted Village Hall and we also took in the 56th FG museum at Halesworth, The American Cemetary at Madingley and the IWM Duxford. Somehow we also managed to visit quite a few pubs on our travels too,,lol! Russ was kind enough to sign the wing for me. Heres a snapshot for the album. Myself and Russ at the Boxted Memorial. Nige. Stonar
You'll be scared to touch it now! Just like me with my cricket bat signed by the great Sir Clive LLoyd Stona
lampie
I know how much you like your cricket Stona, I bet that bats a real treasure! I made a start on the rest of the decals, but I have some more work to do on the cowling before I can get the noseart decal that Paul Parkes made for me in place. lampie
Thanks Darren. I got to spend almost a week with Russ,,inspiration indeed! Slowly getting there. Now the VFS cowling is ready for its red nose band I can get this one painted at the same time, and then its just the bits and pieces to finish, ,,when I pull my finger out and get on with it that is! lampie
Cheers Howard Last bits and pieces are all painted now and ready to go. A nail biting 20 minutes but the nose art decal application went well and when MicroSol has done its stuff I'll be ready to Klear/Wash the cowling. After that its satin varnish time and the build will be complete Nige http://p47.kitmaker.net/
