Romeo Alpha Yankee
I thought I better get started on an entry, yes most of my suggestions were aircraft but at the moent I don't have time or space on the bench to start another winged thing. I was offered the Revell 1/305 USS Nautilus, I though I would have a crack at it. The pluses are: Not many parts Not many colours 3 assembly steps So not much time required to finish it I thought I would try a few shading ideas with it just to break up the hull colour. I have the hull together but forgot to take a picture. Here is the box shot,... .. the instructions,... I hope to have this knocked over pretty quickly (famous last words) Edited April 20, 2009 by TrojanThunder
Romeo Alpha Yankee
Got some more assembly done, Hull is together as well as the rear section. The topedo tube section did not fit too well so I shimmed it with some card. I bit of putty has also been applied and it is yet to be sanded. More to follow. As you can see my work bench is a great example of total organisation Edited April 20, 2009 by TrojanThunder
Romeo Alpha Yankee
Starting to look the part... Need to sand away the filler around the top of the connning tower and fins and it should be almost ready for a coat of paint. xffw45343tg
Well done Ray. It was a bit easier to see the detail against your workbench than the carpet, but finish seems very good. What happened to all the pointy-uppy-sticky things emerging from the coning tower?
Romeo Alpha Yankee
Thanks Kirk, I found a few pictures in the net which showed that all the periscopes, radar and antennas were never all up at the same time. So I cut a few off. I still need do a flat coat and a wash so final pictures will be on a more appropriate background.
