Fantastic website showing WW1 plane restorations

Hi All,

I found this French website today while looking for references for my soon to arrive Eduard Spad.

http://storage.mfa.free.fr/SpadXIII.html

It contains 170 photos of the Spa restoration alone, plus there are others such as SE5a, Fokker DR1 and DVII shown in great detail.

As an example:

DR1 cockpit after restoration:

Spad pilots seat in stripped down fuselage:

I know that we need to treat the colours used with caution but even so, varnsihed wood is pretty muich varnished wood! There are some good examples, in the DVII section, showing the interior of the 5-colour lozenge fabric as seen inside the cockpit.

I hope this is of use.

Graeme
