Hi Daz

Looking good!

A bit strange about no decals for the instrument panel and side consoles, the Greek A-7H had them included on the sheet. Also do not bother about any nose weight it is not needed the model balances perfectly.

Keep the posts coming.

Cheers

Jonathan

Right I've managed to get the SLUFF together.

The top has gone together with no problems.

But the bottom is full of gaps.

This is probably down to me not paying attention.

Daz

Not meaning to be critical but it seems you may have your nose bay in a bit skewed and therefore the accompanying fit issue.

You are using a Nikon D80 right? Is it on a tripod? Your pics seem a bit fuzzy. Maybe some of the camera gurus like Rich Reynolds, Rich C and Mike can help you with your settings mate. You really need to get the best out of that Nikon, its a GREAT piece of kit.

Cheers and keep it up.

Mike

Sorry for the quality of the pics Mike.

And thanx for the tip on the nose wheel bay.

See if it hasn't got treads I'm lost lol

I'm using my Fuji finepix E510 for the photos as the Nikon has been put away for the summer. And the airshow season.

Why? You won't wear it out mate. Use it, that's why you got it. Leaving in a cupboard somewhere, will possibly do more harm than good. There are still a lot of mechanical components that need to be exercised occasionally. Parts of the shutter will have grease on them, if unused this can start to cause sticking.

Guys and gals it's official I'm a numpty!

I've put the nose wheel bay in backwards, how the hell I mananged that I don't know, but it was probably a momentary lapse of concentration.

So I'll scrap this build and it was going so well too.

I do have the old Esci A-7E in the stash so I'll build that to replace this one.

Sorry again I feel so bad for letting myself down :(

What I will be using from this kit are the MER's and TER's the weapons and decals.

I don't think so Bexy mate.

I'll build the Esci/Italeri kit I have in the stash.

The detail isn't as good as the HB kit, but it'll do.

Daz
Before you scrap it try some of the Loctite glue remover, i used this on a model i was repairing and it worked ok, and some of the glue looked like uhu all purpose glue.

Looking at the destruction sheet Peri it looks as though I have put it in backwards.

Well Daz, if the hole for the nose gear mount is forward, so the nose gear retracts towards the aft of the aircraft then you have got it in right.
