fjaweijfopi4j48
Here is the completed model of the Barkley-Grow in its seaplane configuration. For the step-by-step building article please go to the WiP post: The kit presents only the basic shapes, you have to fabricate or provide everything else: cockpit, cabin, exterior details, decals, engines, etc. This one will surely help you develop those modeling skills! I used a set from Arctic Decals, which worked perfectly as usual. This is a nicely-shaped plane that has many possible finishing schemes, and can also be built on skis or wheels. It takes some time, but you can make a pleasant model from it. And you won't see this one around much, that's for sure! 34
Jonners
Now that's nice. A very tidy result and an extremely unusual subject. Good effort. Jon
noelh
Wow clearly this fulfils the 'You learn something new every day', cliche. Never heard of it and I'm a total aerosexual. Really though I hope you are not making this up? Fake news,
cngaero
What a beautiful looking aeroplane. The colour scheme and finish is superb. A fine example of what can be done with a vacuform kit that is given a little bit of TLC and it's a lesson to us all not to dismiss this type of kit. Well done and thank you for sharing your build with us.

greggles.w
That’s just beautiful, you can be very proud of that one! Especially so given how much you’ve had to fabricate yourself. A great reward for your patience, we’ll done.
Courageous
Another beautifully built model . You mentioned in your build the lack of evidence to support markings for the top wings, hence you haven't fitted any but just wondering, was their some sort of regulation telling aircraft owners of what markings should be applied and where?
Terry1954
Beautiful indeed. Your caution on the upper wing markings is wise I think @Moa. I had a quick search on the net and found this link http://aflyinghistory.com/search-aeroplane-photographs?query=Barkley-Grow If you go to the fourth picture down it is your very same aircraft and although the angle of the shot of the upper wings is not ideal, I cant see any evidence of upper wing markings at all?
Strangeways
Lovely model of a beautiful airplane (or vice versa...). I love it.

Hi Courageous I was sent in the interim an image from an angle that seems to confirm that there were no marks on top of the wing. Regarding regulations, the plane flew under Canadian regs at the time those photos were taken, and I don't know what the requirements may have been.

Yes Terry, that's the photo I had too. I was just sent a color version of that one from a wider angle, and no marks can be seen either on it. Thanks for posting the link, useful for everybody. Wlad
Beautiful. I recall seeing the plane outdoors at the Calgary airport in the early eighties, nowhere as shiny as your model. Once I looked at Terry's link I realized the paint was peeling and faded at that time. This plane looks great on floats, the fixed landing gear make it look pedestrian in comparison. Well done. invidia
Another stunner from moa, i admit i had to google this plane.

kapam
Superb model! If you hadn't clarified, I would have presumed to call it a Lockheed Electra float plane. Might have to look at your WIP postings as, by the description of the "kit" it could not have been a routine build. Awesome work!
