HMS Dreadnought 1907 - Trumpeter 1/350

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I've just finished my first ship. I really enjoy the build and for sure I will make another one, but now is tame for back on the track - tank.

Kit in my opinion is good. I've added Hunter's wooden deck, Eduard's PE, Master Model barrels, North Star Model guns, other stuff and some scratch. Thanks for looking.
Special thanks for Nick Charnock fro support with this build.

That looks fantastic :goodjob:

I like the head on/stern shots, it looks so menacing and powerful.

May I ask what you used as a rigging diagram or guideline? I have this in my stash and want to have a go at it some time this year. Your rigging looks amazing, very, very good.

All the best, Martin

Cheers again.

Martin I think it is not a fully right as I am a beginner. I've used as the reference a excellent WIP of Nick Charnock from our forum and Bill Plunk build http://www.bpmodels.net/Model/Album/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=664&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0&sid=9bbec4913f536a987732bfb9d8ca05df

Hope that helps.

Many thanks for the reply. Just had a quick look at Nick's WIP, and wow. That is superb. As is the Bill Plunk one. I'll remember  them for that rainy day when I start mine.

As for you being a beginner, I think it looks superb. One thing I'm a beginner at is weathering, yours is top class and just right. Im off now to have a proper look at Nick's build.

Cheers, Martin

The painting is spot on, great weathering and as for the rigging, we'll done to you!

Great build and the finish is just right, great photography too.

I’ve got my first ship build ready too, the 1/700 POW by Flyhawk. I hope I've not bitten off too much, but I’ll use yours as inspiration.

Kris, that is an excellent build of a wonderful ship! As has been mentioned, you have done a great job of construction and weathering, you should be proud of your result.

I hope it tempts you into a few more maritime projects - it is a fabulous world of boats out there!

Cheers lads.

Yes Ray, I'll definitely be back. And I think it be another Dreadnought class ship, not decided yet which one. Have few on mind.
