Italeri AH-64D Apache 1/48

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

here is my second model. Actually I'm not very familiar with modern aviation. I did this kit , if talking about modern stuff, i love attack helicopters. I looked for russian 1/48 kit but could not fin anything interesting. So I had to choose between my two "occidental" prefered one: the Apache or the Cobra. And I decided to try with the first one. I Know that it's not particulary accurate but i finally finished it. Talking about the model kit, Italeri have to improve a lot is accuracy. The precision of the panels is quite mediocre: lot of putty and sanding, in particular with the big side panels. Decals are very thick and i had to use Micro Sol to set them on. Manual is also lacking of some content. But in the end...it was quite fun.

Colors are all from Tamyia and weathering was done with Tamyia sets. The 30mm cannon is from Master and the cockpit panel are from the Hasegawa Eduard kit.

I'm sorry for the poor qualitiy of my pictures...well here we go

Thats not bad at all. As stated, the weathering is pretty realistic.

Thanks!

I post some "sunlight" pictures. Not that the kit is better now, but with sunlight pictures and most precisely the colors, looks really better

Looks good to me, especially the outdoor pics! Great job :clap2:

Thank you!

Yeah...I'm with you...outdoor are much better...but those decals...argh...even with Micro Sol, two layers of clear coat, and weathering...and you still see the borders
